Finally, after weeks and months of waiting in anticipation, the Premier League is finally coming back. Any Liverpool fans will be extremely happy with the return of soccer as the question whether to void the league is finished. The abundance of games that must be played to finish off the season will leave fans with roughly two matches a week for each team. People who watch and bet on sports alike will be delighted with the number of matches after the extended break from live sports.
Opening the return of the Premier League we will see Aston Villa play Sheffield United. This is followed by a clash between Man City and Arsenal.
Aston Villa vs Sheffield United
Wednesday 17th June, 12 p.m.
Sheffield United have had a great season so far. Currently sitting at 7th in the table and pushing for a place in Europe. Just 2 points behind Wolves and 5 behind Man United there is a possibility for the team to push on. Even if they finish in the top 10 by the end of the season it has been a tremendous success for the recently promoted side. The Blades also have no injuries having a full squad training over the past few weeks.
Aston Villa has had the opposite type of season to Sheffield United. They are 19th in the table and currently facing relegation. However, they are just 4 points off 15th place and goal difference could make a huge difference at the bottom end of the table considering the tightness with points. Aston Villa still suffers some injuries but has John McGinn and Jed Steer back available for selection. Villa lost 4 out of the last 5 games. However, the break should see them come out fighting to stay in the Premier League.
Oliver McBurnie is (+500) to score first and (+200) to score at any time. Villa’s top goalscorer Jack Grealish is (+600) to score first in the game and (+240) to score at any time. Aston Villa are (+210) to win the match. While the Blades are favorites at (+140). Take Sheffield United to come away with the win here at CanPlay.
Manchester City vs Arsenal
Wednesday 17th June, 2.15 p.m.
A clash between two top teams. Man City have been playing second fiddle to Klopp’s Liverpool all season. The league has truly slipped away from the current champions and a win against the Gunners will just delay Liverpool being crowned champions. City are 4 points clear of Leicester who are in third, but 9 points clear of fourth-place Chelsea.
Both sides are clear of injuries except for Callum Chambers for Arsenal. He is still recovering from a knee ligament injury. Arsenal Head Coach Mikel Arteta spent the first half of the season as assistant manager for Man City. Some inside knowledge could prove useful when taking on Pep Guardiola’s side. The last 6 times these sides met Man City have won. This doesn’t bode well for Arteta’s side.
Sergio Aguero is the favorite to open the scoring at (+230). Followed by Gabriel Jesus (+320) and Raheem Sterling (+350). Aubamayeng is the Gunner’s favorite to open the scoring at (+500). The game may be a bit cagey as it’s the first game back for both teams. Man City is (-290) and Arsenal is (+750) to win. Take the favorites here and back Man City at (-290) with CanPlay.
