You can achieve a lot in ten weeks. It’s two and a half months. It’s 0.25% of the average male’s lifetime.
Think about what you were doing this day, ten weeks ago – and it seems like an age ago, doesn’t it? That’s how long it took for a decent game of football this season.
The Seahawks and the Niners went at it on Monday Night Football, resulting in a last-second field goal to steal it from Kyle Shanahan and co.
And all was right with the league again – even Colin Kaepernick has a tryout this weekend. Perhaps things are looking up.
Let’s approach Week 11 with some optimism and try nab some cash.
Pittsburgh Steelers @ Cleveland Browns – Under 40pts: -110
Thursday 14th November 8:20PM
Ever been to Cleveland in the winter? Ouch. Actually – ever been to Cleveland? Same reaction. But dreams go to Ohio to die in November, and while the weather is going to be packing a punch, so will these offensive coordinators.
What bettors always forget with cold-weather lines is that a lot of playcallers will go deep more often because they know the first score is massive in this game, and that they can play the run for most of the day.
With this in mind, and the constant need for Cleveland to call plays out of 10 personnel, they’re going to try some home run shots, especially when Minkah Fitzpatrick creeps up into the box.
James Washington, Diontae Johnson and JuJu Smith-Schuster are all speed merchants too who prioritise the outside. Cleveland’s weak point is at safety. Watch for them to exploit this.

Dallas Cowboys (-3.5) @ Detroit Lions: -110
Sunday 17th November 1PM
Here’s a very simple equation for you.
A quarterback with a bad back plus zero run game, divided by indifferent play-calling to the power of a low percentage success rate due to man coverage on the back end.
What does that total? Not much is your answer.
Dallas, with their multi-faceted run game and nightmarish mismatches for single high safeties with man coverage underneath just appear, at least on paper, to devour these hungry Lions. Matt Patricia for all his schooling, has gone the same way as so many from the Belichick disciple tree – downwards.
I’m not even sure he’d get another Head Coach gig if he left the Lions at this stage, and that’s a big condemnation in a league who are severely lacking good leaders.

New England Patriots (-3.5) @ Philadelphia Eagles: -110
Sunday 17th November 4:25PM
My overconfidence in the New England Patriots to come out firing post-loss after a bye week is not to be tested. They’ll win this, and I suspect they’ll win this by far more than the 3.5-point spread that Vegas have drawn up for us.
The Patriots coaching staff can get complacent like all of us, but there is no organisation in the world better at holding a grudge than this crew. The Super Bowl revenge theme will be done time and time again by the media in the build-up to this game, but this may be one of the few times where the team locker room will have the same mentality.
Carson Wentz is about to get hit – and hard.
