We’re only a couple of days away now from the 2020 NFL Draft that will be held virtually. Rather than fans, teams, and next year’s rookie class making the trip to Las Vegas for the draft, each player will have their reaction live streamed from their living room surrounded by their families.
This is always a great night for fans and players but it has taken on added importance this year. Given the current situation, this could be the biggest sporting event of the year and will definitely be the most watched sporting event of April 2020.
With that in mind, we have taken a look at all of the potential 1st Round picks and where you should be betting on next week.
1st Overall Pick – Cincinnati Bengals
By all accounts this one is a foregone conclusion. With the 1st Pick of the 2020 Draft, the Cincinnati Bengals will select Joe Burrow of Louisiana State University. Burrow can be backed at +6000 with CanPlay to be No.1 in the Draft.
The Heisman Trophy winner began his collegiate career at Ohio State before moving to the LSU Tigers so Cincinnati will be familiar surroundings.
Ohio sports fans will have plenty to look forward to in 2020 with both Johnny Manziel and Joe Burrow lining up under center for their professional football teams.
2nd Overall Pick – Washington Redskins
The top two in the pecking order has been settled upon by pundits and teams for quite some time and this seems like another foregone conclusion. Ohio State’s defensive end Chase Young is tipped to go to the Washington Redskins at odds of -1500.
The Maryland native will head back to the East coast to wear the burgundy uniform of the Redskins. Nicknamed as ‘The Predator’, Young will be provide some much-needed steel on the Washington defense.
3rd Overall Pick – Detroit Lions
This is where things get a bit more interesting from a betting perspective. Alabama’s Tua Tagovailoa had long been touted as the Lions next QB but it now seems that Ohio’s Jeff Okudah will end up with Detroit.
The unusual situation surrounding this year’s draft has hampered Tua’s status and we could see him slide down the draft table. The Hawaiian born left-hander is recovering from a hip injury and teams have not been able to give him a full workout to prove his fitness given the current situation.
The Lions ranked 29th on defense last season and picking corner back Okudah at 3 would make sense. We’re backing him to be this year’s No.3 pick at +130 with CanPlay.
1st Wide Receiver Drafted
There’s plenty of other markets you can bet on for this year’s NFL Draft including ones like this – Who will be the 1st Wide Receiver drafted.
This is one of the most interesting supplementary markets to bet on. The Alabama pair of Jerry Jeudy and Henry Ruggs will be right up there on the draft board for many teams. Intersecting that pair in the betting on this market is the Oklahoma WR Ceedee Lamb.
We believe Ruggs is the dark horse of this trio. Listed at +250 with CanPlay, he could give value for money in this year’s draft. Ruggs recorded seven TDs last season and he is a versatile weapon for any offense.
Ruggs could go early in the 1st Round.
