It’s official, Liverpool are the official winners of the Premier League. After their win against Crystal Palace, Man City needed to beat Chelsea to delay Liverpool winning the league. Chelsea got the best of Man City beating the side 2-1. A great win for both Chelsea and Liverpool fans. It also keeps the London side a few points clear of Man United who is chasing them for the fourth spot.
Even though the league is wrapped up there is still loads to play for. Aston Villa takes on Wolves. Villa is looking to escape relegation, whereas Wolves are pushing for European football. Watford takes on Southampton. Another bottom of the table clash where both teams want to pick up some points.
Aston Villa vs Wolves
Saturday 27th June, 6.30 a.m.
No doubt that Wolves look like the better side before this game. They have won both their matches since returning to football. They beat West Ham and Bournemouth, two sides that are battling relegation. Villa, West Ham, and Bournemouth are all sitting on 27 points. West Ham is the only team outside of the relegation zone based on goal difference currently. Picking up any points for these relegation sides could change their season.
Villa also must play Liverpool, Man United and Arsenal before the season is finished. This means picking up any points from these tough games will be a major boost to their chances of survival. Over their last seven games, Aston Villa have picked up a total of two points. It certainly looks like relegation form, but the side has a second chance with seven games remaining in their season.
Raul Jimenez is favorite to open the scoring at (+280) while being (+115) to score at any time. Diogo Jota is the next favorite to score first at (+450). Aston Villa is (+375) to win while the draw is (+265). It is a better option to stick with the favorites for this one and back Wolves at (-125) here at Canplay.
Watford vs Southampton
Sunday 28th June, 10.30 a.m.
Another lower table clash. Southampton is currently 14th in the Premier League and the side is more or less safe from relegation. Sitting ten points clear off the relegation places the Saints will be looking towards the top half of the table. If Southampton can string together a run of good form in the last seven games, it is possible for them to finish in the top half of the table. Over their last seven games, they must face Man City and Man United which could hinder a push for the top ten.
Watford is sitting just two places behind Southampton in 16th. Watford is also just one point off the relegation zone. A win here for Watford would be a massive move towards safety. Over their last seven games, Watford must play Chelsea, Man City, and Arsenal. They are not the only club hovering around relegation to have a tough run of games till the end of the season. The teams that avoid the drop will need to pick up some points in the tough games.
Southampton’s Danny Ings is favorite to score first in this game at (+300) while being (+120) to score anytime. For Watford Troy Deeney is (+400) to score first in the match and (+160) anytime. A tough game to call. Watford is (+150) to win while Southampton is (+195). There is not a lot between these sides. Back a draw game at (+230) here at Canplay.
