After Champions League action in midweek, the big hitters are back in action with Liverpool hosting Manchester City on Sunday. You can read our preview of that game here.
Matchday 12 begins on Friday night with Norwich City facing Watford. That already has the look of a relegation six-pointer with the teams sitting in the bottom two positions in the table. Another interesting game this weekend sees Leicester host Arsenal on Saturday evening. A win for Leicester will lift them in to second place before Sunday’s showdown. Unai Emery is in the hotseat in the Arsenal dugout and a win is a must for him if he wants to keep his job after the international break.
Here’s our tips for this weekend’s football.
Chelsea vs Crystal Palace
Saturday 9th November 7:30AM
Chelsea’s performance against Ajax on Tuesday night epitomised life under Frank Lampard. The Blues recovered from a 4-1 deficit to draw 4-4 in a hectic game that included two red cards and a winner ruled out by VAR for Chelsea.
Chelsea have won five league games in a row and they are sitting comfortably in fourth position in the league. A sixth on the trot wont be easy to come by though.
Palace are in ninth and they have made a great start to the season although they have stuttered in their last two games at home, losing 2-0 to Manchester City and Leicester respectively. Roy Hodgson’s teams have always been hard to breakdown and away from home their record is second to none. They have secured a 2-2 draw away at Arsenal and beat Manchester United at Old Trafford.
We fancy Chelsea to just shade it on Saturday. Chelsea to win is -300 but if you fancy Chelsea to win and BTTS you can back that at +170 with CanPlay. Tammy Abraham has been in great form this season, scoring 10 goals in all competitions. He is -145 to score anytime.

Tottenham vs Sheffield United
Saturday 9th November 10AM
Like Chelsea, Spurs scored four in midweek. However, Paulo Gazzaniga kept a clean sheet against Crvena Zvezda on Wednesday night. That win was a major boost to their Champions League qualification hopes but on the domestic front their form has been a lot more patchy.
Heung-min Son is expected to take part despite his red card in last week’s 1-1 draw with Everton. André Gomes suffered a horror injury as a result of Son’s challenge but it has been deemed not to be worthy of a suspension.
Sheffield United are less than ideal opposition for a team looking for a confidence boosting win. The Blades have collected points on all five away assignments this season and they sit sixth in the Premier League table. Chris Wilder’s side picked up a 3-0 win away from home against Burnley last week and they will be high on confidence going into this one.
Spurs are -170 to win this one with CanPlay but for us the value bet is Sheffield United (+2) at -205. It’s hard to imagine Sheffield United will be beaten by more than a two goal margin considering their form in recent weeks. There is some really interesting prop bets available for this one too. Cult hero John Lundstram scored two goals against Bournemouth last week and he is +150 to get one shot on target on Saturday. Dele Alli is also a decent shout at +1500 to score a header on Saturday afternoon.
Leicester City vs Arsenal
Saturday 9th November 12:30PM
Aside from Sunday’s blockbuster, this is the highlight of the weekend. It sees 3rd place Leicester face 5th place Arsenal.
Brendan Rodgers’ side look well on the way to Champions League qualification. They may not have the quality to challenge Manchester City or Liverpool at the top but they they have been head and shoulders above other European contenders like Manchester United, Spurs and this Saturday’s opponents.
Unai Emery knows that Champions League qualification is a must if he wants to retain his job into the 2020/2021 season. A win here will go a long way to securing that but we’re not quite sure whether his defence can stop Jamie Vardy in full flight.
Leicester City are favourites for this one. You can back them at a decent +105 with CanPlay. We’re tipping a 2-1 win for Leicester and that can be backed at +725. Youri Tielemans has been in fine goalscoring form and he is +335 with CanPlay to score anytime.
